The IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) on Saturday said that the depression in the Bay of Bengal is likely to be intensifying rapidly into a cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours. In addition, they said tha a severe cyclonic storm can occur in the next 24 hours. Pursuant to that, cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’ is likely to move north-north-westwards initially till May 17 (Sunday) and then re-curve north-north-eastwards across the northwest Bay of Bengal towards West Bengal coast during May 18-20. These are a few things said by Ananda Das the Scientist at Regional Specialised Meteorological Centre.
The weather department has warned about this adverse weather in the Andaman Sea. Along with this Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, as well as West Bengal costs, are on high alert for the next five to six days. It has also been noted that the 12 districts of Odisha are at high alert and the government has said the people to get prepared for this impending situation. Moreover, it has said that there will be very light rainfall in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal.
The government also told the fisherman that the sea conditions will be very much rough and they warned the fisherman not to venture into the south and Central Ocean from May 15th, 2020 for some days because the weather can change its way anytime. The people living near the sea coasts are also advised o return to the safe places or somewhere in the cities to prevent themselves from the threat of cyclone. Hence, the temperature in Northern India will mount around 42 degree Celsius on May 21 and 22. Moreover, there will be no likelihood of heatwave coming in the next week.
