Dharavi is one of the biggest slum areas that are there in the Indian state Mumbai, it was found that Dharavi has emerged a global role model for containing the novel COVID spread but now it has properly managed the spreading of COVID virus. Uddhav Thackeray recently said that WHO has praised the Dharavi slum area for properly managing the spread of COVID virus. He further added that this was only possible after the self-discipline and community efforts here in this place.
WHO (World Health Organization) said in a conference that there are many examples from all around the world that has shown that the outbreak is intense but still it can be brought back under control by efforts of community and discipline as well. Some of the examples given by them are Italy, Spain, South Korea, Dharavi, and many more. Furthermore, they said that Dharavi is a densely packed area but still it has proved that with combined efforts and discipline we can fight with everything. WHO said that Dharavi is a place that is to be praised during this pandemic outbreak of COVID-19.
Probing further, WHO claimed that Dharavi has shown an 82 % recovery rate of the patients having treated with the COVID virus. Moreover, this is a place that has brought down a decline in the active number of cases as well and are having only 166 active cases. Uddhav Thackeray says that Dharavi should be an inspiration to the world that how we can bring down the spread of such harmful pandemic virus as well.
