From the recent updates, it has been found that rescue operations going on at the site of the Bhiwandi building collapse have called off. This is because the death count rose to 41, as per the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) team.
The rescue operations that were going on at the site from the last three days got called off at around 11:45 AM in the morning today. A total of 41 bodies have been recovered from the debris of that collapsed Bhiwandi building. And around 25 people have been rescued by the NDRF team today.
Bhiwandi building was a three-story building collapsed down in the early hours during Monday morning in the Patel compound area in Thane district. Soon after the incident took place NDRF team, fire brigade, police teams reached the spot and carried out rescue operations. According to the information, it has been claimed that two civic officials have been suspended in this huge collapse. An offense has also been registered against the building owner as per the official’s data and research.
Furthermore, the NDRF team and personnel of the Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) are still at the spot. Because the search operations will further continue. This building name was not there in the list of dilapidated structures of the Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation. The people who died in this collapse include 18 children in the age group of two to 15, including three toddlers. All the bodies recovered are highly decomposed as they were there under the debris from more than 50 hours.
