According to a new report from the New York Times, it has been found that the COVID-19 vaccine could take at least 12-18 months to develop because scientists are still researching and finding ways to have a COVID vaccine. Whereas in a virtual roundtable, Siddhartha Mukherjee, an Associate Professor of medicine at Columbia University is still taking and finding ways to develop an effective COVID vaccine quickly.
According to the experts, the vaccine will be there in a year, but still, there is no way guaranteed. The experts further said that “The projections will be refined as time goes on and everything will go on smoothly after a year.” But they further claimed that safety should not be compromised as the terror of this pandemic outbreak has not yet gone. Ergo, these are the claims that are given by Dan Barouch from the Centre for Virology and Vaccine Research. Further in the discussion all the scientists and the researchers said that “Successfully developing and inventing a new drug is quantifiable and one of the hardest things that humans try to do.”
Probing further, they said that the main aim to prevent the COVID vaccine is to increase the immune system response and this is one of the most difficult tasks. After the invention of drugs, doctors will have to check whether it is effective or not, they will have to take 2 to 3 clinical trials. Furthermore, the will have to expose the person injected with vaccines to the outer world. After all these things the observations are made, moreover, scientists also have to check whether the medicine is effective for all the age groups or not and many more other things. So, till the time vaccine gets developed stay home, stay safe as the safety of ours is in our hands only.
