Google announces that it is going to come with a new feature of hum search. This is going to be an option that will enable you to hum a song when you cannot remember the lyrics of it. According to reports, the California-headquartered technology company extended this feature to its Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based assistant, Google Assistant. This feature will only work when you will say that Hey Google, what is the name of this song and then hum sound. Therefore, one can easily hum the song which doesn’t have to be pitch-perfect. But the hum should be of 10 to 15 seconds and then it gives you a list of songs similar to the tune.
Probing further, the list that will come up on your screen will be generated by Google’s machine learning algorithms. Then you can easily identify the tune after it gives you potential song matches.
How does this feature work?
From the reports, it has been found that the company’s search models are train to identify singing, whistling, humming, and many more other tune effects. As soon as the machine learning model identifies the tune that you are humming. It will come up with all the lists of songs that are there available in the list. Krishna Kumar, Senior Product Manager of Google Search says that a song’s melody is like its fingerprint. One of the most important things is that this feature is available in more than twenty languages on android. And works in English only on iOS.
