On Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir, the safety forces killed the Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Waseem Shah all along with his guard. This incident took place in early morning action in Litter region of restless South Kashmir’s Pulwama area. Though, in the clash that explodes near the encounter site concurrently, a civilian lost his life.
The state police though lost one of its men afterwards in the evening when terrorists assault its party, resulting in the martyrdom of Khurshid Ahmad Tak, driver of the AST vehicle, as injuries to two others in Nandimarg region of Kulgam district.
On Saturday morning, the safety forces killed top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Waseem Shah, supposed to be the chief architect of the unrest previous year in South Kashmir. Shah, also identified as Abu Osama Bhai was killed at Litter region in Pulwama, a place measured to be a protected haven for militants.
This is the initial counter-insurgency operation in Litter region in four years. The police force of Jammu and Kashmir had been tracking the actions of Waseem Shah, who is measured as the ‘don’ of Heff, another stronghold of militants in South Kashmir‘s Shopian area. As per the official representative, “following the information that Shah was at his hideaway at Litter was received, police and its unique operation group squad cordoned off the region.”
Shah with his guard Nisar Ahmed Mir made an effort to escape but could not go through the barrier which had been fortifying by the occurrence of the CRPF and Army, Police supposed.
Four wounded individuals were taken to a local hospital for treatment, and one more wounded is admitted to a Srinagar hospital, as per the eyewitnesses claimed.
Official sources supposed a police squad on duty for medical camp, includes the AST squad and a bunker vehicle as returning from duty were fired upon by the thrashing militants at Nandinarg crossing in the police control D.H. Pora.
The police gathering retaliated the assault, and due to brave retaliatory act, police foiled the effort of weapon snatching scheme by the militants.
The state police have paid rich honour to the courageous heart Khurshid Ahmed.police supposed “We stand by the martyr’s relatives at this serious moment. Our sincere condolences for the loss of youthful, capable and committed police officer,” the police supposed.
The police in Jammu and Kashmir also supposed that perpetrators following this attack had been recognised as Gulzar Paddar group and Umar Majid Ganie gang of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist group. They alleged, “In this link, the investigation was also positioning into motion.”
In yet one more occurrence at downtown, Srinagar, terrorists throw a hand grenade at Central Reserve Police Force, i.e. CRPF party on Saturday. Official sources supposed that the terrorists hurled a hand grenade in the direction of CRPF at Braripora, Safa Kadal. Though the grenade did not blow up, they assumed, adding that the whole area was preserved and a Bomb Disposal Squad i.e.BDS was summoned.
The grenade was removed from the spot. Afterwards, traffic and other actions continue in the area in Jammu and Kashmir after about an hour.
