Yesterday, a shocking rape incident, in Visakhapatnam occurred. A woman was purportedly raped in full public sight by a drunken man on a roadway; also no one came to her rescue. The shameful incident occurs near New Railway Colony in the afternoon. The woman, who was sitting nearby a tree on the footpath, was raped by a young drunk man in his early twenties.
The rapist, recognised as Ganji Shiva, was supposedly drunk and has been under arrest following a video of the occurrence. This video was recorded by an auto driver sitting on the next side of the road. In the video, numerous people are observed walking past as the rape was being committed although no effort was made by anyone to stop it.
The Visakhapatnam law enforcement exposed that they arrived at the sight in a few minutes of being informed however the offender ran away. Based on CCTV footage there, he was detained in the night.
The victim is supposed to be a beggar as well as mentally challenged. She was sleeping on the nearby street when the guilty forced himself on her and rape her. Sub-inspector K Suresh, Visakhapatnam IV town police force alleged to media that the woman had left her residence two days before following a family quarrel.
Suresh supposed “it seems that she was very feeble as she had not eaten for a number of hours. She was sleeping on the footpath beneath the shadow of a tree. At what time Siva, in an intoxicated form assaulted her sexually”.
Passersby did not worry to stop him yet as the woman was too weak even to shout. Police was apparently well-versed of the occurrence by the auto driver who made the video. It was on his complaint that the blamed man has been detained.
By the time the police hurried to the place, Siva had already left on his bike. Based on all information provided by Srinu along with further locals, the police force traced Siva and took him into charge.
They sent the rape victim to King George Hospital for the medical test. The police officer supposed, “We have filed a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code. ” Adding up that the particulars of the woman were so far to be collected.
